Ah, Yes. It is that time of year once again. Time for the Semi-biannual G-String Reunion once more. This is a space where past and future meet in the present. Just what are the threads that tie us together, connect us across distance and time and bring us back together once more at a special time in a beautifully choreographed movement, much like the Maypole dance with the streamers woven around the pole by the dancers? Actually, it is a shared form of degeneracy, plain and simple. Oh, you thought it would be something noble, something grand, something of an esoteric bent. Well, those element may be there too, but primarily we were all cooked in the same cracked cauldron of paseurized, homogoneized, midwestern suburban malaise. Sitting here sniffing an old box of 64 Crayolas with the built-in sharpener brings it all back, sharp as a fresh violet-blue inked mimeograph still wet from the machine. Oh, that smell from the BX era- Before Xerox!

Tricky Pickin's
Lest we forget- better put in a plug here for our esteemed, but dearly departed leader: Tricky.
He helped to warp- oh, I mean shape our young minds with his enthusiasm, spark our creativity and inspire us to do more than what we thought we were capable of doing. The Earth Shoes, bad cliches, Beatles songs and terrible fake Cockney accent and the Groucho Marx nose-glasses with Kazoos for that one Italian piece. Sometimes he drove us completely nuts. No doubt the experience was mutual. I'll always remember him at the piano singing "Hey, Jude" with so much heart. Younger than we all are now when he left this earth, God rest his hippy soul.
(Now don't be all sad! This is supposed to be a fun BLOG!)
Remember: "No guts, no glory!"

Anybody got any good stories, mini-memory snippets or photos to add?
